To create a platform of programs, events, and resources that connect and inspire women and girls to the positive and the possible through mentoring, leadership, service, and personal development.
Generation WOW Clubs empower girls by providing opportunities to form honest connections with each other through mentorship, service-based projects, personal exploration, and leadership development. (created by 2016 Leadership Council. The curriculum serves as a companion guide to WOWsdom: the girl’s guide to the positive and possible and the event programming featured at the annual Generation WOW conference. WOW girls are provided with the tools, inspiration, and guidance to cultivate the attributes of success, leadership, and service to others.
The WOWsdom book along with the curriculum includes relevant content for today’s teenage girl. The lessons and experiential activities focus on building confidence, cultivating leadership skills, forming positive mentoring relationships, making healthy choices, exploring educational opportunities, a breadth of career options, and community service. WOW clubs are encouraged to develop community partners in their cities. For example, the Jacksonville WOW clubs have partnered with United Way of Northeast Florida to create WOWUnited, a year-long grant-based program which awards a GENERATION WOW girl (in grades 8-11) $1,000 to improve their community.
Each WOW club develops its own unique culture and identity, operating within the framework of WOWsdom and the curriculum. WOW girls will have the opportunity to participate in additional activities including field trips, community service days, and mentor/mentee meet ups.
